Default Changing belts this weekend...

Any words of wisdom before I tackle this job???? Seeing if anyone has any advice on what to do, or not to do!!!!

Good luck, brother! I chickened out and found someone here in Texas to do it for $270 if I would supply the parts($169 RockAuto). Let us know how it goes and may the mechanic gods be with you!

If your talking timing belt, hopefully you've read a lot of the threads on this forum to know that's it's not a nice job. Biggest thing is to get eveything lined up (marks on the upper cam sprocket wheels) before you put it all back together.

Just doing the Alt and other accessory belts.

Still got 37K until I have to get the timing belt done. Car only has 63K on it!!!

I did it yesterday (I was only off on Monday this week). Once you get the access panel off, the tensioner is right there for the accessory belt.

I did luck out since the previous owner had replaced the Alternator and the Alt belt and it looked in really good shape. The other accessory belt was worn and had cracks in the ribs. The accessory front belt was a piece of cake once you got the panel off. Took me maybe 1 hour start to finish while taking my time enjoying a cold beer!!!

Car sounds like a totally different car with that belt replaced. Very quiet again and no screeching!!!!
