What kind of gas mileage do you guys get? I just filled up my first tank and it came out to about 22 mpg.

damn, you must have a turbo, or do a lot of hwy driving. lol
i just recently got 20 mpg, but that's trying to get rid of my lead foot and try not to go over 3500 rpms. before i started with the intake mods, i was getting like 15, afterwards it went in between 16 to 18. But now i'm able to keep it between 18-20.

18-20 on Gasoline .... low with A/C and large right foot, high ... no A/C and same large right foot all in town

About 1-2 MPG less using the federally state mandated energy depleated fuel.

Have not really put it one the highway much in almost 2 years owning ... got 23 the one time I did. Sounds like I need to hit a GTG.

Actually, yeah, that was highway driving. I don't normally do a lot of that, but it's been so long since I had a car I loved that I took a little road trip down the coast.

It'll probably go down even more once I settle back into my stop and go routine.

Depends on what tune I have loaded. I run 93 octane with a custom 93 tune most of the time, and I drive my car like I stole it, so it gets around 17 in the city, 22 on the highway. Mind you, I sit in line to pick up my daughter at school 5 days a week, that really knocks it down a couple mpg.

I have a race tune, you don't want to know the mileage on that, it's ridiculous. Then a highway tune, it's no good for city driving as it's set up for all top end power, but on the highway I average 28mpg with it. That's not bad for a PT GT vert, but that tune took months of tweaking to get it that good. Oh, by tune, it's a custom tuning setup with a DiabloSport Predator. I spent a week in Florida working with DS and RageTek, on the race tracks at Palm Beach International and on their dyno's, to get my custom tunes just right for me.

I get 25 MPG highway with the AC off and 24 with AC on. I very seldom drive city streets so I cannot comment on that mileage.

Actually .... what I posted above may not be as good as I could get. My work involves my driving to various building on the site I work at, furthest is about a mile and half in any direction from my office building, speed limits 15-25mph prevail but no real stop and go traffic while driving, just a bunch of short trips. I haven't had the opportunity to test this with the PT, but a few years ago when my Beetle Turbo (tuned at least as much as Chromenut's GT) was my Daily Driver I was training a new worker and had her do all the driving for a 2 week period. My daily one way commute is 15-16 miles to my office, about 6 miles of it get me to usual highway speeds of 70-80 with an occasional 15 second stomp up to about 120 then back to the 70-80 traffic moves at, the other 10 miles redlight to redlight average 40MPH max 60MPH, my usual MPG was in the 21-22MPG range with A/C and Extra Large VW Right Foot for the commute. During that 2 weeks I drove to work and parked it then drove home, it got me 2.5 MPG better mileage, I figure it is due to not driving the short trips totally 5 or so miles a day at work in Open Loop mode burning excess fuel till the engine warms up 10-20 times a day. Doing the math on that .... my VW got about 5MPG while at work ..... pretty bad HuH?

Well the only relevant question is what do you get on the highway, because everything else depends on the start/stop cycle.

I mean if I idled the car all day of course it will get lousey mileage or drive it 2 miles to and from work, it is going to be poor since it never warms up.
