Default Should I trade my fuel door?

My neighbors selling his pt and he has a chrome gas door its the kind where u take off the old one, he says it was on when he got it, he said hell trade it with mine if I want. Mines the normal one. His car is the same color but its a turbo.

The question is that his chrome door has what looks like tan specks on it u derneath the "clear coat" like shiny coating on the outside, very small but noticable when your close. Im wondering if this is the chrome plating coming off of it and if so what to do about it. Or if it Just needs polished.

It sounds like the chrome is "pitting".I would polish it and see if the spots come out.If so,go for it,if not I wouldnt trade.

I would just buy a new mopar chrome door and keep your original. Down the road if for some strange reason you need the original you will have it and it will match your paint. Plus the chrome doors new arent too much money.

that's a good idea, spend maybe 15 or 20 bux one at the JY and then trade him. But i would'vt want to give up my original one. every thing i've taken off, i've kept. like my tails and my air box.
