Default My cruiser is headed for the shop

When I bought my cruiser several weeks ago, I got a really good deal on it. I knew there was a transmission problem (the carrier bearing was bad, evident by the continuous vibrumbling you felt in your butt while driving). I am happy to say that I wll be depositing Brewzer at the mechanics Monday morning to have the transmission replaced and while they are in there I will have the timing belt, water pump done. To the tune of about 2200 bucks....ugh But all systems are go after that

I have a question though. Has anyone tried any of the after market electric water pumps that are out there? And if so, recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I have always thought that an electric water pump on a car was a good idea, more horse power, better cooling. And there are some that install outside the timing cover, that would be great...

i ran a electric on my mud truck btu on a PT the timing belt runs the WP and im not sure they make a timing belt in a diffrent size???

Of all the 4 Cyl timing belt motors I have changed belts on that run the WP from the TB, all the way back to the Vega 2.3L and the Ford 2.3L 140CuIn N/A and Turbo and several VW water cooled engines .... there really is no way without major engineering to route the belt past the water pump so the pump can be run by an external motor.

IT works great for a V8 or V6 especially ones that don't have a serpentine belt, like those kits were originally designed for.
