Default 2006 PT Cruiser Cooling Fan High Speed

I have been chasing this problem for a year now, pouring over this (and other) sites and not found a solution. Seems like everyone has a slightly different problem...

Car: 2006 PT Cruiser Touring (most basic model)

Problem: AC goes warm intermittently when engine is hot, bogs down engine (high freon pressure)

Troubleshooting already completed: serviced AC (runs super cold most of the time), verified cooling fan functions (will run at low speed), verified low and high relays were functioning. When checking the relays, the left (low fan speed?) relay circuit had voltage to the pole but the right did not. Both were seeing energize voltage when car and AC is running.

Anyone have any clues to get me on my way? Is there a separate fuse for the high speed? There is nothing obviously wrong with the wires to the relay

if the fan isn't running on high speed, then that part of the fan is defunct. you mentioned it running on low speed but not on high.
a new fan should fix the problem.

If your fan is like my 2003 Limited fan, it has two sets of brushes. One for low speed; one for high speed. If you're getting "high pressure" readings when the car is at idle (is that when the motor "bogs down"?) then your high speed portion of the fan is probably not working--thus not cooling your "high side".

Of course, your year may be different, as far as fans go. But when this subject is brought up, often it's the fan that's not up to snuff.
