You'll need one after the lowering. And are you sure they tore the boot? Alignments are pretty much routine and I wouldn't see that happening.

Don't need an alignment if you only dropping the back. but you may need to adjust your headlights
BTW I have 235 40 18 on mine...depending on the wheel design you may need to use wheels spacers and/or grind part of your front caliper bracket. But I have a GT so I have bigger calipers. You may not need it.

I went to look at the PT at the dealer, looked good, 2007 Touring with 37k, carfaxed, no accidents.

Test drove it, surged some, warm air at idle. Cold when up to speed. I knew what the issue was because I researched it here, fan motor. Drove it for about 10 miles, never heard a peep out of the suspension, also read about it before.

Was told it was fixed. Test drove it again, no surging, AC worked great. Ran through service, changed wiper blades, oil change, alignment, state inspection etc.

Put it in reverse, turned the wheel to the left, popping sound. Came to the first stop sign and it did it while braking.

Salesman told me it was due to the alignment.

Not sure or not, didnt sound right, but they replaced both lower control arm bushings, 1 boot kit and 2 bushings, and 1 passenger side axle seal.

Test drove it afterwards, not a sound out of it again, so who knows.

All is well now, just upgrading the rims and tires, will look at it on Tuesday to determine springs, just want to lower the rear to match the front level.

Ive looked at alot of pics in the gallery, anywhere from 1.5 to 2 inches looks level.

Alot of good info in here, helps to come here before you buy, so you know what to look out for.

Will post some pics soon!

Thanks guys!

I think they (discount tire) are telling me, not sure, that a 235 40 wont fit, need to go with a 35.

225/45R17 Tire 17x8 Rims Here!
I had my PT aligned when I lowered it all around. Then had it aligned again when I put the new rims on. But the time span between the two was about 2 years.

Just go with 225 40 18 instead...BTW how wide are your rims? Mine are 8.5 so I needed something a little wider than 225's.

Thumbs up Re: Alignment/Rims

Got the Rims and Tires today.

Got the Falken 235 40 18's on a 18.5 Rim.

Fit perfectly, no issues.

Got the alignment done.

Now to get the rear lowered!
