Default Tight Steering.

Just something I have been wondering. Between my 2001 Limited and my new-to -me 2008 Touring, the steering is way different. The 2001 had not sure if you call it slop of maybe 2in. The 2008 has like 0. I have to hold the wheel very firm because if I sneeze i am in the next lane. It just seems very tight compared to the 2001 which seemed to have a more relaxed feel. Hope someone knows what I am trying to say.

Yeah I know what you mean. I thought it was just me at first, I wonder why the steering is so tight

My '02 doesn't have any play in the steering, which I really like! I was basically forced to borrow others' vehicles while mine was in the shop after the timing belt tensioner failed, causing mayhem! LOL (Not funny at the time, but I'm laughing at myself for cussing the thing out when it happened.) Anyway, one I borrowed was an SUV that had loose steering from hell! I never knew when the thing would go straight or start to turn. On my PT, if I move the steering wheel even a fraction of an inch, the car starts turning in that direction.

As for steering, got wide steering issues, like driving a truck sometimes. The turbo helps boot it into lanes quickly for changes though. Didn't realize the '08s were much different in steering?
