Post Adding factory options to a Base cruiser.

Good Morning,

I was wondering if anyone has experience adding factory options to their cruiser. Thinking of adding cruise control, power door locks, an alarm and factory style fog lights.

Anyone who has done so, please let me know your experience and whether or not to go the factory route or aftermarket.

Thanks,

RJ

On the bas model Cruise control was an option. I bought a used 2007 that did not have it. Not a big deal to me as there are very few times where it can be used.

The fog lights are already wired but you will need to change your multi function switch to make them work.

Bingo!
I added OEM fogs to soonercriser; replaced the MFS, and had the computer flashed.
No problem.

Or you can wire in a separate new switch to operate the fog lights; likely for less cost than a multi-function switch.

Well, one can do most anything that one's budget will allow. A sun-roof (moon-roof) could even be installed, though that is obviously a major job.

My na 2004 base had the following options when I acquired it;
A/C, cruise control, power door locks, power windows, dark window tint.

I have added missing options and previously discontinued or never offered features:
power exterior mirrors w/ heat, fog lights, under driver's seat drawer, overhead console (compass-map light-temperature), center console flood light, rear mud flaps, lighted mirror sun visors, cabin air filter, engine modesty cover, discontinued second horn, discontinued door lock & window switch lights, discontinued seat pillar trim pieces, a second cargo shelf (I think the shelf was discontinued on the 2005 model year), rear door sill plates.
Most were simple additions requiring little more than the parts, screwdrivers and wrenches and some wiring.
Adding power door locks can be done as shown here:

I have the instructions for adding Mopar cruise control, but the PDF is too large to attach here.

Thanks for all the information, I have already make inquiries about the multifunction switch as well as the driving lights. The cruise control isn't too badly priced and I will definately go with oem for compatibilitiy.
