I bought my switch a week ago.
I do not see how it adjusts. It seems fixed. I plan to put some clay at the mount bracket, close the hood , then measure the clay height and compare it to the switch to see if it is a problem I need to deal with.
I bought 2, 37 led lamps to put in.

Hmmm... long ago I added a 4 tier LED light to my trunk. The PT Vert has this tiny light that is worthless, add to it, it shuts off after a few minutes and sometimes I need more light. Mine has 4 adjustable heads, each with white LED's, so that I can aim in 4 directions. I also have an LED strip light that is magnetic and mounts to the underside of the storage where the roof goes when it's down. Both these have aimable LED's and both can be easily removed from the PT and used under the hood. I've had the 4 tier one now for a year and use it maybe twice a week and still haven't had to replace the AA batteries in it!

If you're interested, I can snap a photo and post it here. Over at PTCREW I posted a thread about making the magnetic LED, so can either go over there or I can paste the photos here. They are totally bitchin, because they provide so much light and yet they are removable so I can carry them anywhere I need them! Great if you break down somewhere.

In my PT (04) that switch is part of the immobiliser/alarm system...

The back of my led set has a metal plate. I bought some flat magnets to use to hold it to the hood. No holes needed.

What a great idea, Chrome!!

If i were to do this, I'd use an OEM mercury switch or whatever,
then route wires to add LEDs. I'll bet some vehicles cam with a pigtail in the area, assure you they didn't build two different harnesses for a five cent part!
So look in the area for it.

The mercury switch could be off any vehicle, of course

I'll post pics today. On mine, unlike GhostFlyer's, it was plastic backed so I just bought some earth magnets from Lowes and glued them on the back. Works great. Will post pics today.
