Default How long?

How long did you have your Cruiser before you started modding it?

I bought Wally (named for Walter P. Chrysler) new in 2005. In 2006, I put the little wings from the vert roll bar on my door, some chrome strips on the stock grille, and a gen2 wing on the hood within the first year, then the modding craze went dormant in me until this year when I returned to this forum. I had lurked here in '05 and '06 but don't remember registering. When I realized that due to Chrysler discontinuing the PT it was getting more difficult to find parts, I started modding. The dormant phase is over. I'm going at it with vigor now.

Major mods (to me) so far:

1. J&J vertical billet grille - scored this used - really like it. The previous owner had put a Chrysler script logo on it, and it looks good to me!
2. PTeazer tail ights - also scored used, but added new LED conversion
3. Quite a bit of chrome add-ons (spears, bumper strips, door posts, mirror covers).

I get some positive comments from locals, but haven't had it anywhere that PT folks gather.

It's not a Turbo, so don't know what I'll do performance wise, so far K&N filter, new motor mounts and control arm bushings, keeping it maintained, etc. is the extent of performance mods.

Its pretty hard to get attention in a community of enthusiasts who look at anything less than a full vehicle airbrushed mural of the 'charge of the light brigade' to be essentially stock.

2 weeks. Threw on some lowering springs from NOPI (which was the only after market vendor back in 2000). The spring were from Eibach before they started calling them Eibach Pro's.

Sixteen months after purchasing my cruiser used, I have finished all of the cosmetic mods that I began to plan before purchasing. Does planning mods count?
Assuming that normal replacement of wiper blades, tires and battery do not count, my first mod would be replacing the gas cap with an aftermarket locking cap on the day after the purchase.
The first actual mods were the Autotecnica head light and tail light chrome rings before the third week was over.

I'm still waiting for some nice weather to fit the parts I've bought! If buying parts counts then a few days, if waiting for the sun to show itself counts then 6 months!! Not a problem for some of you in the sunnier states!
