Default car wont fire

i have a 04 pt cruiser with 119k on it...i had the timing belt and water pump replaced last summer...anyways today the car wouldnt fire at all...at first i was thinking i needed a new battery because it was cranking pretty weak...so i replaced the battery and it cranked good but wouldnt turn over....i looked everything over and i noticed the plastic belt guards were broken...could the belt jumped a tooth and got out of time?

Yes sir, that possible. If it hadn't been replaced it's likely.

If it's a not turbo, you can remove the upper timing cover with some difficulty on the '01. (Nothing technical, just have to 'wiggle' it around.)

These covers are frequently busted when tech's replace belt, so breakage could be from that, also.

Sorry-

So crank; no start. First, do the keydance*, be prepared to write down "P" codes that appear in odometer.

(* Key dance, on, off, on ,off, on)
