Default 2002 Cruiser Dream purchase opinions

Hey everyone,
I am new to the forum and looking at buying my first Cruiser. And would like some opinions/insight....

It's a 2002 PT Cruiser Dream, with 100000km (60000 miles), in excellent condition and am just wondering what I should look out for and verify.

Here are some pics...

Got it for 3400.00$ CDN, but at present I just left a deposit.

I appreciate all your help and input

Nick

Be nice to have the original wheels. Caps fit the dream only. Is the rear shelf still in the car. Google 02 dream and you will know all there is to know about that car far as it came.
Check for oil leaks. Ask about work done. Look and see if things look unmolested under the hood. Listen for unusual noises when driving. Look for paint on moldings and lights or other signs of paint work. You know check out a car to buy stuff. Great miles!

Yeah original wheels not there, but i think those don't look all that bad. Also getting a set of winters on black rims.

Yeah tray still there.

Paint look great, no paint fuming anywhere.

Took a look under the car (while on lift) and it seems oil leak free.

The air filter did seems a little loose (up and down play). Maybe not bolted in right.

Thumbs up Re: 2002 Cruiser Dream purchase opinions

It looks great Nick!
The wheels are not original though, and the rubber step pad on rear bumper is an add on...and I don't think the air deflector on the rear is original. but is a great looking car...Good luck with it! PTpreacher

Nice car!!! low miles and a good price...
In the other hand, since you are from the north, you don't really want the original wheels... I bet you he already tossed them out when the OEM chrome started flaking and they started to loose air So you are better off with aftermarket wheels

Car looks good.

Depending on what size rim you are looking for as winter rims (live in Florida so no clue about the white stuff), srt4 rims can always be a cheap alternative. Bought mine for $300 with almost new tires on them.

Is it me or does it look like the Cruiser doesnt belong in the pictures?

Everything else is dreary and cold looking, dirty vehicles in the distance, and then a shiny, almost too shiny.

The shadows on the vehicle and pavement seem to match but it looks eerie, no snow or ice in the tire treads, no nothing.

It almost looks like it was photoshopped there, its what I initially thought, still weird though

I agree but maybe they cleaned it up inside for the photo shoot and rolled it outdoors over the ice on the ground. Tires wouldn't pick up ice. Headlights need a good polishing.
