Default Rough Idle

Just joined this forum today. I am considering buying a 2005 PT Cruiser Touring convertible / turbo. It seems to run fine and the turbo seems to kick in ok. My concern is it idles very rough. What could be the problem? I drove another PT non turbo and the idle was smooth.

How many miles? what year? I may need plugs and wires?
You may have to do the key dance to check for codes.
Hope it is nothing too bad, probably isn't....get back to
the forum after you get more information...some one here
should be able to give you some answers...PTpreacher

If you turn the key, on-off-on-off-on it will read out any codes to tell
what is wrong if anything on the car... Is the car on a lot for sale? If
so ask them to put new wires and plugs in it and you will buy it....That
is probably what is wrong with it...? check these things out and let us
know back...PTpreacher

Welcome.
THe "Key dance" pulls up error codes - useful if there's a check engine light.
You most likely need new plugs & wires - DO NOT buy dtock wires - nearly any other name brand is okay. The stock Champion plugs aren't bad, gap them at 0.040.

Thanks...the dealer did fix the problem , said they changed the motor mounts , can they be changed in less than 2 hours? I ended up not buying the car , although I wanted it bad. The sales mgr pulled what I believe was a fast one. I offered $7300 , the salesman came back and said that $7695 was the price . I hesitated for a min and said ok. But when he came back, the sales mgr had raised the price to $ 8477 , I walked out. So I'll still be looking for another.
