Default 2004 Special edition?

I saw a blue 2004 special limited edition cruiser advertised today. It has special paint stripes, brushed metal grill, spare tire look on rear deck. I cant find any info on this model. Is it stock? It has 71k miles for $6950. I dont believe its a turbo. Anyone ever seen one like this before?

Does the price sound right for a limited leather non turbo auto with a mod on the deck?

Modifications on most cars doesn't do anything for the price unless the potential new just happens to like what was done. Most people want to start from scratch and mod their own way, or keep it stock. The price seems high for that one.

As the others said mods don't ad to value. Can detract from it. If you like it Ok. That being said, as you listed it KBB retail in my area says $8,607 in excellent condition retail with that mileage. Private party Ex. $7,082 v good $6,782 good $6,607 fair 5,882. Of course you should check it for your self. Milage is KING as is over all condition. Pessimism is a good attitude when buying.

It is from an individual, not a dealer. The mileage isn't bad for an 04. I'm sure I can get it cheaper. I'm more concerned about issues I've read about such as lower control arm bushings, cooling fan,PCM.... I don't want to have to be repairing it all the time. I know there's always that chance with a used car. Unsure about the reliability of cruisers. Will they make it passed 100k miles?

You take a chance with ANY used car unless you know the history of how it was maintained. There are owners here that have past 200,000 miles. Have it checked out by someone who knows PT's before you buy but that still doesn't mean the MFS (Mutifunction Stalk) won't go bad the day after you buy it.

Look at the thread about how many miles on your pt. You see a lot stuff here on this site because people post when they need help. People do not by nature post good news although it happens. The bushing are common, fans are a lot less common, & PCM even less common. Things can happen no matter what the car. Far as the price, you will note the price being asked is at the upper end of privet party value. Look over the vehicle carefully. Point out concerns and negotiate the price. Mileage is very low for the year. Mine are all over 100K. My friend has over 180k. Hope this helps.

Yep, sounds like user mods, the wildest PTC Chrysler produced was the Dreamcruiser, which was basically just a lot of different trim options. Hey look at Wikipedia for all the factory editions, they made a lot, but nothing like what you describe.

They also built a Platinum Edition Limited in 2004:

I've got a graphite metallic one.
