Default Can it be that easy?

I'm going to be swapping out my headlight bulbs this weekend. I found a set of the Silverstar ZXE for a pretty good price.

when I installed them in my truck, I had to pretty much remove the headlight assembly to get access to 'em. what it looks like I need to do on the PT is simply remove the wheel, then open the trap door thing-a-ma-jig and take care of business.

Is it that easy? Is that all that I need to do in order to gain access to the guts of my head lights?

I would say you don't even have to remove the wheel, just turn it.

I was gonna say the same thing, leave the wheel on. If you want it easier, jack up that side of the car, the wheel drops giving better access.

Watch out for the tabs on the access panel. They will snap off if cold and brittle.

One more thing. Yes, it's easy to change the low beam, the high is a different matter. Further in and a metal bar in the way if I remember correctly.

OK, thanks everyone.

I went out and took a look for myself. It doesn't look like it'll be too hard, though the old bulb is stuck in there pretty good. I guess the trick will be to break it loose without actually breaking anything. I think I've got some sort of penetrating liquid around somewhere (yup I'm aware that penetrating liquid and electrics don't usually mix well, so will be very careful).

I don't have too worry about the cold... here in Louisiana Mother Nature can't make up her mind what the weather is going to be like.... it's currently almost 70

Bill buddy, what's going on?
ok so they all hit the nails on the head but one thing i find useful is jacking up the front end a lil bit so you have room to work

Hey Danny. How's it going. I think I already suggested that in my reply. But no matter, never hurts to duplicate a good idea.

Changing the bulbs in the car is a ton easier than removing the unit. especially if there is any corrosion on the mounting studs an the nuts are stuck.
