So alas, when I am idling my pt starts to heat up sometimes getting so hot I hear a bubbling noise, but as soon as I start driving it goes back down to the middle. My coolant levels are normal and the coolant is clear and clean which leaves me with one of the most common pt problems, the radiator fan! The fan on the pt now looks OEM so it was either never been replaced or replaced with another crappy Chrysler part which wears out.
so my question for you fine pters is where have you gotten your radiator fan (If ebay what seller or links) and how well does it work? I'm looking to save money but I want something that will last and will of course fit like oem or better.

Way back in 2002-03 when my fan burnt out, there weren't many after market vendors or parts stores that carried cruiser parts. I went to the dealer and was told there was a national back-order for the fan/housing part. Which of course meant lots of other PT's had the same problem. The dealer called around to other dealers and even neighboring states and couldn't find one. To tel the truth, I can't remember exactly how, but got hoked up with a large Chrysler dealer in Texas that dealt in discount mail-order parts and he had a fan/housing for somewhere around $90 which was about half of what my dealer wanted.
Long story short, got the parts from him, and fumbled my around to put it in myself. Only took one or two pics of the installation but made the write-up for the forum and it's been there ever since. Removing the fan and housing 01-05 PT |

I hear they are becoming hard to come by.
Ours was replaced with an OEM before we bought it. I have warrantys on both PT's so I would assume they would use OEM first. Dont know if they are any better though, china may be the way to go |

I had them fix all the things I caught before I signed for it, it was almost 1700worth parts and labor. I saw the invoices, but then again they could be frauds. I bought hers warranty through honda, and my 06 through Chrysler |

so if I spend around 60 for the radiator fan that's not too low? Cause I see some online for that price and was curious the going rate of them.
I sat at a drive through today with the a.c. On. A.c. Stayed cool and consultant temp but the car started over heating. 2 minutes of sitting still put it in the red and I heard the coolant boiling. Drove off and 45 seconds (I counted) later after going 45mph, I was back in the middle and no boiling noises. so we all agree its a fan right? I just thought the a.c. Gets warm when the fans out.
