Default Air Conditioner Air Conditioner Vaccuum or Flap seal issue???

Hey all I have been having a LOT of ongoing issues with my air conditioner. I have finally had someone look at the compressor and check, and while the temperature is fine and blower is blowing, we have a restricted airflow.

The two air conditioning people that have looked BOTH agree it seems to be an issue with the left selector that chooses between vent/floor/defrost (etc) and perhaps a vacuum issue. (They want at least $100 bucks just to take the center panel off to look though)

One day a few weeks ago it worked PERFECT, thought it had fixed itself but within a few hours it started to get back to a very low airflow again.

ALSO we live under a tree with LOTS of leaves. I get them everywhere on the car and even though I get them off, I've suspected they are clogged somewhere, BUT, despite my best efforts I can't seem to find any clog.

Any suggestions or advice?

OR perhaps it could be a dirty Evaporator Coil? Can I clean that myself?

I don't know the answer to your first question but I can tell yo it's probably not the evaporator. It's also located in the center of the dash, just as hard to get to as what the mechanics wanted to do.

What you coould do is take off the front control panel and see that that everything is working when you turn the dials.

I think that assembly changed in 2006. He didn't tell us what year his car is.

True, I just took a guess on the problem he was having and more older PT's have the A/C problem. But, then again, it was just a guess.
