Default Removing the confounded vanity mirror bulb?

I've just replaced 2 headlight bulbs, 2 brake light bulbs and rotated 4 tires on the PT quicker than I can figure out how to remove the vanity mirror bulb. Plus, I cracked the vanity mirror in the process.

So, what's the trick in getting the bulb out?

Thanks!

You know, I had the same darned problem with mine and then gave up on it. I spent $40 and bought an older model buick rearview mirror with auto dimming feature plus map lights. Planning on installing it tomorrow. Really wanted that auto dimming feature!

I have never had to change the vanity mirror light bulbs, but this what the shop manual says:

"REMOVAL
(1) Lower visor.
(2) Insert a small flat bladed tool into the slot
between the lamp lens and lamp.
(3) Carefully pry lens outward.
(4) Remove bulb from socket.
INSTALLATION
(1) Position bulb in socket and push into place.
(2) Position lens on lamp and snap into place."

Thanks Sanatana. I'll try some tweezers tomorrow and see if I can pull the bulb out.

Edit: Just realized there's an "Interior Accessories" forum here!

I decided to look into my visor to see what you all are saying.
Now I understand! How the h*#l does one remove those bulbs?
Because my visor vanity lights both work, I decided not to risk damage.
I hope someone figures this out and shares with the rest of us.
Putting the easily popped out lens back into place was difficult enough.

This is truly informational. I had the mirror bulb lights blown out for a couple of months and i end up with the service manual. However, i heard that there is a way on how to prevent the lights from dimming. Im not sure but just read it from other discussion sites.

Seems impossible.. Remove the lens but the bulb socket keeps moving around. Broke the lens putting it back in but just 1 tab so it fits.
Want to change it out for a LED.
Anyone have a tip to replace the bulb?
Thanks

Q. How many cruiser owners does it take to change a light bulb?

A. So far, it takes five.
