Default 2001 PT overheating issues.

I have recently replaced my rad, harmonic balancer, belts, and thermostat.
Since the belts and balancer have been replaced there is a steady squealing sound coming from that area. As well the car continues to overheat, but it is fine when I turn the heat on. Is it possible they used the wrong thermostat?
As for the squealing could it be the water pump?

Thanks for any help.

PS It is getting a little warm here to be cruising with the heat on.

That'd be classic fans not working- Does it overheat at speed (45MPH)?

Ensure squealing accessory belts (spray brakleen on them) and NOT
anything inside the timing cover.

readjust the tension on the alternator belt, it's probably loosened up a bit.

How does one do that may I ask?

I think I need to know these things, but have no idea where to go look.

This is for the US 2.4 2001 model-
Here you can see the alternator-
Lower Left center there's a the securing nut- 15mm wrench size IIRC
Loosen this first
upper right center is the aduster bolt- 'tighten' it to put tension on belt.

There's also the pivot bolt below, center left (you can see alternator belt, too) you'll need to loosen.:

It's behind this cover (if a shop hasn't already 'left it off'

Very straightforward, but not fun!

FWIW, the very first sentence in the original post states the radiator was just replaced
