Default whats the best way to start engine?

Just a simple question.... whats the best way to start the pt cruiser engine? to let the gas pump work for a seconds and the crank? or just to crank the engine right away?

Realistically i usually swotch to the on position first for a few seconds before turning the car all the way on. But your car should be primed with fuel already so either way should in effect work

either way should work... but it is typically best to turn the key to the run position for a few seconds to allow the fuel pump to prime and all the electronics to power up then crank it up.

Volkswagen had a tag in their early fuel injected cars (as people were used to carburetors):

1. Sit down
2. Buckle up
3. Turn Key

Thought it was kinda funny so remembered it

Follow the manufactures instructions. Or as Uptown said.

I just turn the key and it starts. Most modern cars have a check valve to keep the fuel in the lines.

When stripping cars, eventhough gastank has been long drained, there's still pressure in fuel rail after weeks of sitting!

Amazing.

Wow thanks guys for all your reply's .... Yes I always turn the key right away but was seen videos on YouTube of random domestic and exotic cars and most of the owners let the fuel pump work and then crank thank you guys
