Default Looking for a Garage in Montreal

Howdy folks,

I picked up a 2001 Ltd Ed manual crewser last summer up here in Laval that soon afterwards started to have one problem after another. Basically I am looking for a reputable and knowledgable garage in the Montreal area who can give me an honest assessment of the work involved and if it is worth performing.

I had a complete APA inspection done AFTER I bought it - dummy ! I was so depressed when I saw the report. This shady dealer basically sold me a lemon.
The car is also getting very low mileage , even for this car (poor to horrible).
I would like to keep it and enjoy it for a summer.

Problems:

Coolant everywhere (spatters, leaks at neck near rad cap), fan never turns on (overheats).

Battery voltage low (11.6 Vdc) - doesn't start in cold weather (corrosion seen at terminals).

Passenger side shock/strut mount 'loose' (center nut moves) causing 'thunk' and poor control of vehicle.

P0551 diagnostic code - power steering pressure switch comes on ( I reset it)

A/C doesn't work (need this for humid and hot Mtl summers) - I'm afraid to ask what the mileage drops to with that on !

Timing Belt seems to be changed and clutch is nice.

141,000 Km

Dark Cranberry Pearl

Thanks

Did you ever find a good PT mechanic?
I am looking for someone to change my timing belt in the Spring.

Oreos, that post is nearly 5 years old. I don't think you'll ever hear from drageur. Good luck with yours. You should probably just call a few shops and see if ANY of them are familiar with the PT Cruiser timing belt change. It's not a job to be taken lightly and here in the States shops charge anywhere from $800 to $1,400 or so. I'm sure it'll be more in Canada.

If you don't do your own work you better find a good garage if you plan on being a PT Cruiser owner.
