Default tuner questions

Before I start I'm prety sure I kno the anwser to this but I thought I'd ask any way. I have an 06 pt n/a. And any quite happy with what I have done to it as its my daily driver. But was curious is there was an chips or tuners that can b used on it to gain a lil more hp. Any suggestions??

The NGC (Next Generation Controller) is extremely sensitive to any changes-
Guys with 2d gen NGC Neons would have problems with things as innocuous as an Underdrive Pulley!

Obviously the SRT-4 is NGC, and people get around that, so it's just the N/A hasn't been explored that I know of.

Megasquirt has code to read NGC crank sensor, but that'd be an extreme measure for an N/A car.

You can ensure the vehicle is getting lots of cool air, these guys have a great writeup on modding stock airbox,

The old standby of reducing weight always applies- Removing back seats if never used, light wheels/tires and the 'alumispare' are just a couple examples.

here's a layout of the air box mod

and here's an addition to the air box mod. you can make a hole in the flap you take off to access the head lights

other then that there's nothing else that you can do short of doing a GT engine swap

if your looking into getting an exhaust or a muffler get a chambered muffler, our NA's need the back pressure.
also, don't waste your time on electronic super chargers, chips, or TB spacers. THEY DO NOTHING!!!!!! lol
make sure and use platinum or iridium plus and change out your stock wires. keep tire's a tad bit over inflated and get rid of all of the unnecessary weight like how Uptown stated.

FUNKING NICE! i have a makeshift CAI and a supper 44 as well. i use champion double plat's and i just replaced my wires for Taylor Thunder Volt 8.2 wires. any 8mm wire will do but some of us prefer brand names.
