Unhappy 04 Wont turnover!!!

Hello!
Ive been reading a lot of posts on here and now i need some help of my own!
My 04 PT(not turbo or touring) will not turn over. the lights come on when i turn the key, and when i go to turn the key to ignite, nothing. no sounds from the engine at all. the check engine light turns on after about 1 minute of having the key ON.
I have tried jumping it and nothing. Before it was jumped, it was making a clicking noise when i tried to start it, after it was jumped, no noise. we discovered that he put the cables on the wrong turminals when he was jumping it and he fried his cables, could that have been the problem?

Probably fried something in the car to. The only thing you can do at this point is to try to address the original problem. Clean the cable connections and charge your battery if it is not bad and go from there.Check the fuses, just in case you get lucky. There were some other cases on here but I can't remember exackly witch one's.

i was thinkning that something might have fried...
i cleaned the terminals on the battery and when i hook up myu battery charger, its saying about 90% and looks good. i was going to try the key trick here in a minute and see what that gives me. are thise codes that i get from that the check engine codes as to what is wrong?
ive also been hearing alot about the #13 fuse, do u know which fuse that is in refrence to? what would a blown fuse look like?

Clicking noise screams battery to me. I had this once on another car, after the lights, the last turn of the key, nothing, just clicking clicking. Keep doing it and you then get nothing.

Charge the battery I say.

To note, you can get a reading the battery has a good charge, when infact it doesn't. Sometimes they can just need changing.

I would agree but that was before they hooked the jumper cables up in reverse polarty and melted them!

You hooked the battery up backwards!!!! There's particular fuses you probably fried in the PDC (fuse box in the engine compartment?

No#1 30 amp Ignition start.

No#3 40 amp Ignition Run

No#13 20 amp Auto Shut Down

No#17 15 amp IOD

Check them all really well.

its not backwards, the positive terminal is hooked up to the pos cable. theres a + on the cable that hooks to to that side so you cant mess it up. The JUMPER cables were messed up yes. i just had my battery on teh charger for about 2 hours now, im going to put it back in and i hit my starter a few times, hopefully it IS only a battery issue...

That's what I was talking about. Did you check all the fuses?
