Default 2005 PT Dream Cruiser - Brake and Tail Lights Stopped Working

I have a 2005 2.4L Turbo (Dream Cruiser Series 4) and the tail lights and brake lights have stopped working. I had a problem with the multi-finction switch last year and had it replaced by the dealer so I don't think that is the problem. The headlights, instrument panel/interior lights and turn signals work, but the tail lights and the brake lights have stopped working. No water in my tail lights or any other incident that I can point to that might explain why they suddenly went dark. If anyone has an idea of what might have happened and how I can troubleshoot a fix I would appreciate hearing back from you. Thanks.

Check fuses and bulbs first.

Thanks -- I should have mentioned I already checked the bulbs and fuses. They're fine. Also, hazard lights work on the tail end, but turn signals won't. All front lights working as they should. I'm guessing it's a bad ground or short in wiring. Thanks again.

Question Re: 2005 PT Dream Cruiser - Brake and Tail Lights Stopped Working

Hey guy, did you happen to figure out what was going on here? I have EXACTLY this issue, when in reverse lights work. hazards turn on blinkers but using signals doesn't work. no brake lights, no tail lights, no signal... but the bulbs work in other situations.... please advise on how you solved this

My guess, looking at the schematic in the repair manual, and even though the multi-function switch was replaced, would still be that switch but before you do anything, check again Fuse #2, #6, #15 in the interior fuse box and #12, #19 in the Power Distribution Center (fuse box in the engine compartment).

I find it ironic that the colors red, white, and blue stand for freedom until they are flashing behind you.
