Default 5-Speed - Auto Swap

OK so let me say up from I have worked on and played with RWD Muscle Cars for half my life, but this is my first FWD car. Would it be possible/feesable/worth it to swap a 5speed for an automatic to make it drivable for my wife?

I am assuming there needs to be some ECU flashing or reprograming, but can you phyically swap them? I miss the good old days when the big problem was the driveshaft length when swapping trannys

Transmissions physically will interchange-

There a TCM on (at least) first two years- so it'd be easier to:

-Get a different wife, the make them everyday and ones from Europe know how to drive a stick
- Throw 300lbs of bricks in back so it seems slow like an auto and gets the same mileage
- Shred $2000 in lieu of a periodic trans rebuild

Parts to change.........
-Shifter
-Pedals
-Gage cluster
-Wiring harness
-Front half axle(s) (I think? Different width trans)
-The PCM
-Oh yea, the transmission

The throttlebody is also different but you can possibily opt to not change that. The automatic is the bigger of the two.

i have to disagree with the 300lb of bricks statement though
