Default Interior Noise

We have a few cars but our 2009 pt cruiser (non turbo, non convertible) seems to be pretty loud inside. Is this just a "norm" for the cruiser? I have looked at our weather stripping and to me it looks okay but I don't really know what to look for except all was in tack and in the channels. One thing is when you open the front passenger door where the weather stipping that is meeting the front windshield where it ends there is like a obtuse triangle it is kind of spongy and looks erroded but that is all I could find.

Any tips, hints or ideas to get the in side quiet and keep our cool air in/hot air out.

Are the Dynamat Extreme kits woth it and experience to install?

Thanks.
SB
Cheers!

I briefly owned a 2006 and now a 2005 and am very surprised about the noise. I have read were members have gone to the trouble of installing sound deadening material to help with the noise and rattles.

These aren't the quietest cars in terms of wind noise, even on my 2010.

I think my 09 is pretty quiet. Of course I am coming from a 02 Trailblazer that when I had a cross wind you couldn't hold a conversation with passengers. It was that bad.

@nitropt,

Have you installed the dynamat or anything? I think before next summer we may do that. From what I understand the doors, trunk and all are easy to get apart. I assume the dynamat is straight foward and easy to install but have never done this.

thanks,
sb
