Default Problem after replacing the multifunction switch!!!

Hello! So i bought a MFS but now when i connect the fog lights they dont even turn on anymore!
Before, with the old MFS at least the fogs would be always on even when the
car wasnt working, when of course i had the fuse No.8

But now i dont understand! Such a pain in the @$$...
The fog lamp indicator light lamp does not iluminate in the cluster before or after the fix. Before when i had a fuse 15A No.8, at least was on the indicator!

Honestly i dont understand why chrysler did that! Why made such crap MFS.
We love our PTs but so many problems, especially electrical...

Does anyone knows why?
Does anyone had the same problem?

I thought that changing the MFS everything would be ok but i was wrong.......

The fog lamp indicator light lamp does not iluminate in the cluster before or after the fix. What could be the cause of this?

Jim

Sounds like either a bad switch (it happens, even when new), or a bad fuse, not much else can go bad.

I just got done re-fixing mine, the fogs would turn on when I used my signal turning right. Just had to shim up my repair inside the switch .

I checked the fuse and is brand new!
As i said before i couldnt put a fuse cause would be always on. So i took out the fuse No.8
But now with the replacement MFS (is used, not new) still they dont work!

I think idont have a chocie that re wire the whole thing and install a switch where is lighter and have them there!

Does anyone did that?
I tihnk i saw somewhere in the forum but i cant find it!

The twenty pin connector burns- I've NEVER seen on that's not burnt!!!

You may wish to check that wires are all the way in, not pushed out so connecter isn't dangling

Here's off a srt-4, same diff:

You can buy a new connector from chrysler, and I believe Rockauto, there's a PN for the mopar on here, somewhere

X2.... take the used one back, (hopefully not an E-bay special) and try another, or just spend the bucks on a new one, I don't think they are too outrageous in price.

If your handy, you can more than likely fix your old one, they seem to fail in the same place. There are plenty of posts addressing this problem, they helped me fix mine

first i would like to thank you guys for your help!

I bought the MFS from a friend that he had an accident with his PT and everything was working even after the accident (was from the left side of the car).

So i guess should work with my car too!

I tried to fix my old one and again i follow all the steps (open the MFS and clean the connectors) but again when i put it back and put a fuse No.8, always my fogs are on.

With the new one with or without the fuse the fogs are always off. As i said i the fog lamp indicator light lamp does not iluminate in the cluster.

The only thing i didnt do is the copper mod, but honestly i cant understand how to do it.

About the twenty pin connector that Uptownsports showed with the picture, mine are like that exactly...

So guys where is should focus?
Fix my old MFS?
Fix the new MFS?
change the twenty pin connector?
or
re-wire the fogs and have a switch where is the lighter?

What would you do?

Thank you
Jim

Guys can you please tell me which other fuses except the interior fuse No.8 are linked with the fogs?
Thanks

I would try and fix the new one sense you gave yours a go twice.

Replace the multifunction switch with a band new one. Not used! No matter if it was working from the donor car!
