Default Ding Ding Ding - does my head in

My airbag light keeps coming on, and I don't have the time or money to sort it.

Where is this thing that keeps going ding every time an error light comes up, or you're low on fuel, or you try doing a handbrake turn, or open the door before you fully stop, or break wind in the car?

I want to smash it, or at least cut off it's 12v supply

You'll have to take half the dash apart to get at it. It's behind there somewhere. Try getting below the dash when the alarm (ding) is going off and see if you can reach where the noise is coming from.

Mine's been on for 4 years .. comforts me in the night. besides who needs fancy airbags anyway, they just coat you in shake n bake anyway following the skidding crunch.

I'm thinking you have a battery or battery terminal or battery ground problem. Check those out. Not much time to do it ....

Any reason why you think that apart from gut feeling? It's the only electrical problem I'm having and thought it would be the clock spring mechanism in the steering column

Turns out it's the airbag in the drivers seat. Took my youngest son to uni today and had the 2/3 of the back seat folded forwarded - no ding. Got there, put the seats back- ding. Played about under the seat, thumped and pummelled the airbag part of the seat for a bit - no dings

Happy again

Right - it's started doing it again now. Is there a code reader I can plug in to tell me which airbag is playing up?

I have been in a head on collision that totaled one of my cars.

A trailer came loose off a truck and jumped the median and hit me head on. The truck was going the opposite direction so it came right at me. I was wearing my seat belt.

I think airbags are great. I would rather be covered in shake and bake rather than covered in blood.

Good Day
