Default gas pedal vibration returns

I have a 2003 Limited with almost 44K now.

Since I bought it in 2010, I noticed the gas pedal vibrated like a massage machine at high speed. In recent months, the vibration crept down to neighborhood speed. In the last couple of weeks, a dull humming noise can be heard, and the vibration became worse. Many friends here suggested it could be a wheel bearing problem

So I brought it to a local mechanical shop, which has very high online user rating. They told me it's indeed a bad bearing, and asked for about $250 to replace it (their hourly labor is $85). I asked them if I can bring my own bearing (I happen to have a National brand one, bought from RockAuto). The said fine but since it's my part, there is no warranty; if I go with their Timken bearing, they have a 90 day 4K mile warranty.

I decide to use my own bearing, and they just charged me 2 hours of labor. I got it back this Tuesday, in the next few days, the vibration problem is almost gone. There is still a little left, but I am not sure if it's normal.

But today, the vibration came back. It's not as bad as before repair, but I am afraid it's gonna develop to that bad soon.

Since there is no warranty, I can't return it to the shop. Too bad.

The thing is with shops is even we all know that they make up the parts it is sometimes a good thing to just get everything from them. If the part goes bad most shops have a labor coverage of some degree which is usually free parts and labor 90 days and adjusted or prorated labor for the warranty of the part?
As far as Timken vs BCA/Nation well read this resent thread.

OEM sensors.

What rob342 said is all to often true the bearing usually fail in pairs or pretty close to the same time.

The other side was just changed 6 month/8K miles ago.

I am not saying this is applicable in your case. More just a thought of mine:

It is really hard to find someone that wont rip you off that.

Too often ego and greed get in the way.

Then when they cant find out the cause they get defensive and start throwing their credentials around.
