Default busted pt



heater core line rubbed against the EGR tube and puked out coolant all over my header.

if it moves and not supposed to... duct tape!!!
if it dont move and is supposed to... WD-40!!!

and duct tape wont fix this one... lol i got on the interstate looked behind me and all i could see was a white cloud. my first reaction was "OH SH!T" wtf just happened... lol

Just looked at mine. Your deferentially right, as the heater core hoses pass about a inch away from the EGR tube BUT, my heater hose that's closest to the EGR tube has a metall shield on it to protect it from the heat of the tube.

I'll try and take a picture.

Here ya go. You can just see the shinny metal shield towards the bottom of the EGR tube that protects the hose from heat. It's like a thick piece of aluminum rather than what I was calling metal.

lol thanks for the pic Crewzin! i was thinking of grabbing some high heat protectant used for covering hydraulic hoses here @ work. but i think i like your idea too!!

and yes. i just wanted to get in the spirit for holloween so i toasted my hose. drove down the road singing michael jackson "thriller"...

That sucks... it does make for a neat pic however.

In the pic Crewzin posted that 'metal' piece is a factory item and is some sort of aluminized fabric that covers the heater hose. It if flexible and slides on the hose. When I changed out my hoses that cover slid right off the old one and right onto the new hose.
