Default GT CLutch pedal adjustment

GT Clutch pedal adjustment

I am attempting to upload a copied pic of the adjustment for the clutch pedal, wont work

Anyhow there is a rod form the master cylinder which mates to an adjuster on the pedal, looks like you loosen a bolt and can lenghthen or shorten the amount of lenght the rod has where it attaches to the pedal.

When one pushes the pedal down the master cylinder rod pulls away from the firewall. If the pedal travels too close the floor for clutch disengagement I assume to reduce the pedal travel one would loosen the screw, and pull the rod forther out and then tourque the screw down.

My wifes GT seems to me to disengage much closer to the floor then my 05 and I want to adjust it.

Anyone done it?

lots of us adjust it. loosen the 5/16" bolt, press the rod in and the pedal up, then tighten.

Stiff transmission when hot?

So to be clear, push the adjusting rod back toward the firewall, where you mean in and lift clutch pedal as high as possible?

lol. you worded that as bad as i did!

sorry..

after you loosen it, lift the pedal towards the back of the car, and push the rod on the firewall towards the engine. (spread it longer)

Gave it a quick adjustment, loosened it, lifted the pedal up and tightened it, now it has the same pedal feel as my other car and grabs higher off the floor!

Rob342, Thank You!

Same problem, thought about all that money I would be spending on a new clutch and related parts! Now, after a simple adjustment, it works much much better.

I am still have a bit of trouble shifting in to reverse, but nothing like before. I sure hope this forum stays alive long after our beloved PTs were killed by Chrysler.

Many thanks!
