Question autocomputerexchange.net issues, can someone help?

On this previous post I was told to check out autocomputerexchange.net to get a new ECM/PCM. Well, I finally placed an order yesterday evening, but not only I had issues with their order form (nothing seemed to happen on the form, no feedback that the order was processed, and yet it appears I was charged 3 times), but today the site appears offline.

I tried to use their toll free number (1-888-664-8787), and the call fails every time.

Logically, I'm a bit worried, to say the very least.

Anyone here with the same issues, or who knows if they are having technical difficulties?

Regards,

Ed

*sigh* Nevermind. I digged deeper, checking the domain name info with GoDaddy and Paypal, and I managed to obtain a working phone number and sort things out, apparently. Well, all I have to do now is wait and see what happens.

I only wish some vendors took better care of their online storefront. It took them forever to answer my original email inquiry (weeks), and now this happens. Oh well...

The site works and the #'s work.

Maybe next time don't be so fast to post things not in some peoples control??

Naturally you know these things but for others...

Call your bank the first thing to report charge problems.
Wait at least 4 hours if the site you are trying get to is not working.
Look up the business in the business directory.
contact by what ever means easy for you BBB and see if hey are listed
There may many more idea's these just came to mind first.

They have many more contact information then the http and 1 number you listed???
Multiple information using most common internet search engines

I bet by the time you read this you will have already talked to them!!

Personally I always frowned on the "fast draw" person going to a negative before they have a little patients when it came to contacting anyway except personally coming to my shop. We as business owners have very little control outside the physical presents of our Establishment when it comes to getting in touch with us.

I know that this will work out for you and hope you post back your end experience with them!

Well, they learned about it when I called them and gave them the heads-up over the phone . I pinged and tracerouted the domain-- it appeared offlline. Good to see they managed to fix it quickly.

I understand what you mean. I did wait over 5 hours before starting to get worried. I'm normally patient with these things.

You see, I had written 3 inquiries by e-mail, and got one response many weeks later, practically a month afterward. I normally do that to first check how responsive is a vendor's web storefront... so that left me with a poor initial impression. The order form appeared to be strangely non-responsive when I submitted the order. The non-functioning 800 number added to my worries, too (I haven't checked if that's fixed too). There's more, but I think that's enough whining for one post .

It was not my intention to badmouth anyone, but to see if anybody else was having the same issues, and see where I could go from there. Regardless of all that, I probably should have waited longer and probed deeper online (as I did) before asking for help here.

It won't happen again.

Hmmm, so you confirmed slow service before you placed your order?

Your funny new guy! Welcome aboard!

Thanks.

And, yes, I went ahead anyway since I didn't know where else to order the item with any kind of assurance that it'll work. My mechanic had previously ordered ECMs/PCMs from three *other* places, and none of them worked (or so he said)... so I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try myself.

Whatever, this is the last thing I can do to try and see of my car's condition goes away. Being unemployed and unable to find a new job kind of limits what I can do right now.

Sorry about the work situation, I'm in the same boat as of late. Just now looked at your other post.

If the tranny has it's own ECU would'nt that be the one to swap out? Also if the new doesn't work out there is always Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market or a local wrecking yard.

If it's just acting werid and goofy and all f'd up for no apparnt reason it might be the battery cables?

Note to all...I'm just gonna keep saying battery cables because sooner or later, I'm gonna be right!
