It would depend on how the warranty policy was written up. It's not uncommon to see policies that stay with the car or in other words the next buyer of your old car would continue with the 2 remaining years of warranty coverage. I haven't heard of a warranty that transfers with the owner to the next car but that doesn't mean there isn't such an animal. If you are planning to purchase a new car that comes with its own 3 year warranty, for example, and if you were somehow entitled to transfer, you might not be able to tack the 2 years on to the end of the factory 3 years in any case. A forum like this is not going to have answers for you but my guess is a phone call to your particular warranty company can clear up any and all questions.

It's a barganing chip you can use - if the dealer wants to make a sale, he can throw in stuff.
Strictly speaking, warranty is on the car - not you.

Don is correct, you cannot transfer a warranty onto a new vehicle. What you can do, however, is cancel your remaining warranty and get a refund for the two years you have remaining. You can then use that amount to either purchase a new warranty for your new car or even use as a down payment.

They told me this morning I can't put it on a new vehicle like you say ......only use it to get a better deal.....also they would get a hold of chrysler and maybe good deal on 2 yrs warranty. Here in Nova Scotia they say they don't make pt cruiser's after 2010. The only other small vehicle I see is a Fiat and I don't like these. Going to keep my PT cruiser. Thanks for the help....pt hugs jinky

Yes, 2010 was the final year for the PT. Mine might become quite collectible one day!

Thanks! It's called "Deep Water Blue", but unfortunately, Chrysler no longer offers it
