Default Winding noise! Please help!

I noticed a annoying winding noise when I turn the wheel! So you think the pump is completely bad? Thanks in advance guys!

Is this something like a barely audible squeak at the steering wheel? Mine sounds like that for a long time, turning the wheel, but I thought it's just plastic rubbing. ?? I realize there should be no noise but there's a lot of noises all over my car, that's just one. Is that sound similar?

One of the split seats went into a dumpster in Tulsa. The arm rest unscrewed and fell off. It's on its 2nd timing belt. Surviving the Upper Peninsula winters.

I had winding noise on my 01 when I turn to the left. It started when we had flooding rain here. Two nights later my timing belt failed. In the shop now, will repost if they tell me power steering pump is bad also. Power steering fluid was still full though.

It's probably the wife!!

Does the sound disappear when you raise idle speed? Try flushing the fluid, it will only cost $6 in ATF +4. On my 2001, I had the pump replaced twice, once for the noise and one for a severe leak. There was a recall for relocating the PS lines that made an improvement. Not sure if it applies to your 03.

Thanks guys. It ended up being a leak in one of the lines.
