Default 2001 PT Cruiser RATTLING

Hi all, i had just posted my 'new member' thread and now im here to ask a specific question ...
Ive only owned this pre-owned 2001 PT Cruiser Limited Edition for about a month now. There were a couple of issues with it when we brought it home and so I brought it back to the dealership. They fixed one of the issues (at no cost to me) but apparently the other issue was not addressed.

Whenever Im driving and hit minor bumps or divots in the road I get a lot of RATTLING/CLUNKING at the front ,sometimes closer to the middle and towards the back of the PT. You can hear it and feel it.
Im thinking that it may be the stabilizer bars. Is that possible?
Im not too mechanically inclined to know the difference ,,Thanks in advance to all my PT brothers and sisters here

Hi, it's me again. I'm always around saw I saw your post first.

Yes, the sound could be the front stabilizer bar, but it could also be a number of other parts in the front suspension. Since you don't do your own work, I'd suggest looking for one of the places that will give you car a free inspection to find the cause of the noise. They will try and talk you into buying or fixing whatever the problem is but you can shop around for the best price. If the car is running OK except for the noise, don't let them scare you into having it fixed "right now" on the pre-text that it will fall apart if you don't have it done by them at the moment. Get a second opinion and it might even turn out to be something the dealership will do under whatever warranty you might have since you bought it there.

Hi CREWZIN ! Thanks for your advice Bro' also Thank you for the nice welcome on the other thread, its very appreciated,,I would imagine that we will be discussing many things here within the next couple of years.
First off, Ill take my PT to our local Pep Boys. I want an oil change done anyway and Ill ask them to also diagnose the problem.
Lets hope for the best. Could a stabilizer bar repair/replace be moderate in cost?

The stabilizer bar may be loose which would just require tightening.

If they say its damaged to the point of being replaced definitely get a 2nd opinion

Sorry for the delay in responding once again.
The advice here was correct!
It was the stabilizer and sway bars that needed fixing/replacing.
Had it worked on in February 2013~~My PT has ran FINE since then!!
Im glad to be here thanks guys.
