It's either one of two things (maybe three). The timing belt has broke or you need to buy and install a new Camshaft sensor. Possibly, the Oil Pressure Sensor switch needs replacing also.

Do you have any technical experience meaning, do you do any of your own work? Second question, how many miles on your car?

At your miles, it's probably the Camshaft sensor and not the timing belt but a way to check it is to take the Camshaft sensor off, have someone try and start the car and see if the magnet (inside the hole where the sensor was) turns when you try and start the engine. if it doesn't turn, the belt is gone but you shouldn't have that problem at your mileage.

P.S. Spend a little more money and buy a MOPAR Camshaft sensor at the Chrysler dealer rather than a parts store. PT's have problems with aftermarket sensors. When/if the car starts, then see if the Oil Pressure sensor light is still on. Take off the battery cable when replacing the Camshaft sensor.

If you have to ask, you'll need it done professionally. In a range of 1 star = easy and 5 star = hard. The PT cruiser timing belt = 5 1/2.

We have a how to section in the tech section. It's a lot of work and requires some tools. Many have done it. Take pics before taking things off helps in remembering where things go back. Some tools you can make up yourself and save big bucks.
