I just bought a Duralast battery at Autozone. Got a good deal on it. I wouldn't buy OEM.

just find a cheap one with a decent warranty. i scored a new DEKA battery with an 18 month warranty for $40.

if you buy a battery online from advance auto parts and choose in-store pickup, you can use one of these discount codes and save some cash.

otherwise it's same as shopping for tires on a budget. ie check walmart and pepboys for specials before checking vatozone/oreilly/napa/etc.. ideally you'll find something cheap with at least a 2 year warranty. in my case $40 was too good to pass up.

From what I have heard the quality of the Optima's have went way down. Plus a regular battery will last many years for a much cheaper price.

I got seven years out of the original battery, so I bought another from Chrysler.

My OEM battery lasted 6 years. I'm on my third battery from Advance Auto Parts ever since. The last one lasted one month. Luckily all the extra replacements were covered under warranty.

My 06 had the original battery in it, and still going strong. I charge it every other month. And it started a 318 yesterday. It looks puny in a truck battery box. I've had very good luck with the middle grade interstate brand. There is a longer battery [58R] which may also fit the 2006 and up models.
