Default Oil light

Just bought a PT from a friend, the Oil light will come on and chime, while driving, I will pull over and turn engine off then back on, the oil light will go off, it only happens every now and then, I have checked the oil, had the oil changed, but it is still happening, any ideas?

There have been more than a few reports of the oil pressure sensor failing. It's a cheap item to buy but it's a pain to replace. Times like this make you wish for an oil pressure gauge.

As 2Step said, cheap part, not easy to replace.

And get an OEM sensor not the cheaper replacement part. My original sensor lasted 8 years, the replacement less than 8 months....
