Default Hatch/lift gate struts

I think i need new hatch struts.
I got my PT used, so never got to see how the hatch should lift.
It only comes up maybe 25* then it's all me lifting it.
It does stay up once opened, so not sure.

What do you guys think? Should it open more on its own?
Any recommendations for replacements?

i put new ones on my 2002. i lift it 25% then it goes all the way up on it's own. i think i bought 'em on amazon. you'll have to research the correct ones as i did mine a coupla years ago.

It should really be the other way around, pull about 25% and then it raises all by itself. I got mines on Amazon for about $40 a set recently, it makes a cool difference. The brand is Strong Arm, made in the USA!

Thanks guys. I was pretty sure the struts were tired.
I found a few places that sell pairs for $30-40.
I'll check those "strong arms", too.
