Exclamation Battery

So it started this Friday battery light came on for like a secOnd then went away when I got home for some reason I tried to lock the car nothing hit the remote nothing open the door dash was very dim tried to turn pt on nothing click now today driving to work when I turned the corner pt just shut off tried turning the key nothing open the hood shook the battery and cables boom turned right on. Now keep in mind I just installed a sound system as well as an aftermarket radio I don't think it's draining my battery because of it did I would of needed a jump what could this be my opinion is that either the cables are going bad or my alternator what do u guys think I need some help

if just shaking the cabvles worked then id have to say some kind of a loose conection check both ends clean them and make sure they are tight if the alt was going bad it would give you a light all the time

i'm going with battery and/or cables. if you could shake things under the hood, check to make sure the cables are tight on the battery. pretty much rule out the alternator.

edit: what dad said. LOL

You have your answer - shaking the cables brought things to life - tighten the cables!

Doesn't completely rule out the alt. If brushes are warn down they can give a intermittent charge or no charge ( light). You didn't give any milage. Overall I agree with above. Check All the cable connections not just the battery end.
