transmission flash?

Default transmission flash?

so i changed the transmission on my 2004 pt cruiser gt. do i need to do anything or just do the relearn thing? the dealer says i don need to do anythin at all but lookin around seems like i need to relearn it? i did research but didnt find the specific answer. anyone? thanks ahead.

this is a loaded question I have droped my pan 2x and never had to do a relearn I cant seem to figure out how the car knows it has new fluid but some say they had to id put it together fill it up and drive it and see thats all I did with my 06

just do the relearn as you drive. Drive it normally for a few days WITHOUT going WOT.
There is a relearn procedure that you can do but you need some open road with no traffic.

The trans learn is in the computer. It could be done at the dealer when you upgrade to stage one. This no different than anytime you disconnect the battery. Just drive normal and give everything time to seat.

thanks for the input! so i did the relearn thing just in case, but 2nd to 3rd gear the car kinda jerks. better if i accelerate a little faster but when goin really easy really jerks. no cel or codes..anyone had that problem?

Dad76: Changing the fluid and filter doesn't affect the tranny computer. If you change the transmission or the computer, then the computer has to re-learn the clutch 'volumes' [for wear] and the driver's habits.
