Default I found a hole in a line/tube

I spent a little quality time getting to know my engine today (05 GT) and I found a hole worn in a tube that I think goes from the pcv valve. It's to the left (passenger side) of the furthest left spark plug and just behind the oil fill cap. Is that a pcv valve? As a temporary fix I just wrapped some duct tape around it. It doesn't seem to be close to anything that would rub a hole.

It must've been hissing!

I do believe turbo's have PCV sticking straight up, in any case, if you think it's a PCV, it's prolly a pcv ...

I too had holes through the elbow in my PCV hose..and it was kinked and restricting the air flow at the same time. Weird tho.. I had no running issues.

Replaced them with brand new Mopar pcv valve and hose/line.

It's all good now..

Yes! Mine looked just like that!
What do you think caused that, Junkie? Just age?

My guess would be that since the rupture was right at the elbow, that some of the blow-by oil concentrates there and just cooks with the engine heat.

That, and the fact that's 9 years old now.
Motorhead likes this.

Heat haha. It melted. Just the engine compartment can reach well over 100*F while the car runs. If it contacts anything or gets clogged up, it will just cook and cook until it pops :-)
