Question Activating new fog lights after installation

I bought the Chrysler fog light kit for my daughter's 2007 PT Cruiser. Installation instructions are excellent, so no issues there. It tells you that you need to have the Chrysler Star Scan tool to activate the fog lights. Aside from the obvious (taking to a dealer), is there any other way to get the code for activation turned on? You need to set the vehicle to recognize the fog lights and set the country/region, too. Probably billed at an hour's labor from the dealer, I would think, even though it will take 5 minutes.

Anybody have experience with this? Thank you.

There is no code. They have to hook up their interface and turn them on. I called around and got a various prices. The cheapest I found was $35 at a dealer close to me. I got there and like you said it took them all of five minutes. The tech gave me the car keys and said he wasn't charging me for it. I also added the cruise control on mine and unlike the fogs you don't have to have it turned on.
