Default pentastar PT

I have not found any info on the internet about someone putting a pentastar V-6 with a six speed into a PT Cruiser. There seems to be enough room between the engine and the firewall and a V-6 should be shorter? A canbus PT might be compatible with a pentastar computer?

300 hp and 30 mpg. --nice-- The car Chrysler should have built!

Pretty much mutually exclusive.

The V-6 Mustang gets 31 mpg highway and has over 300 HP so while not an average figure it's not impossible to get 30+ MPG and have over 300 HP.

In fact, over the next few years I don't see why it's not possible.

1) That is an EPA estimate - rare that anybody sees that #
2) THE 'Stang has less drag - the PT is as aerodynamic as a potato.

You're pretty much talking rear wheel drive with a V6 set up. The Cruiser was engineered from the start to swap a ton of parts from the Neon and not be something 100% new. Not that there's anything wrong with the V6 idea. I'd buy it because that the way I roll, but I would still like to have a turbo in there somewhere.

The Cruiser was a definite sales hit the way it was because it appealed to a lot of folks because of its style and utility. If it had been a true power wagon, hot rod it would have been more of a niche vehicle (like the Prowler or SSR) and sold in very small numbers.

2 step: the prowler was kind of impractical and quite expensive. Cool looking.

Since the V-6 6-speed and the [new] 2.4 4 speed both fit in the Avenger/200 cars, which are also narrow, I thought it might be possible to do an engine swap without frame modifications. Just wondering.
