Default Timing Belt at 90k or 102K on 2005

I seem to be getting conflicting information @2005 PT Cruiser. Some places I read that the timing belt is supposed to be replaced as a part pf the 90k service. Other places I read its the 102k service. One local dealer told be 90k, the other said 100k.

Does anyone have a definitive answer?

Some have broken at 60 some 150. So It doesn't really mater. Except if you plan for it you get to shop around for price and directions if your doing this yourself. If it breaks you pay a tow to where ever. And get what they say or walk. So anywhere in there is good as long as the PT cooperates.

Busted is 100% corect
what we know is this
IT WILL BREAK
IT will break at the worst time there is
It will break when the money is not there
It will break when you are in a hurry
It will break when you are least expecting it
It may break on a wet cold rainy night when your wife is alone on a dark road

Bottom Line it WILL BREAK
and anyplace between 90-100,000 Im be planning for it to happen soon
a 2005 is 8 years old and rubber does nto age well
Do not supprised when it does break
Plan for it
Make arrangments for it
It has to be better to get it done on your terms otherwise you will do it on its terms and that sucks

I'm at 96.5K and am actively shopping for a competetive price. Fortunately, I drive very little during the week as I commute on either my Vespa or the train. I'm just driving very little and very local and expect to have it done in the next 2-3 weeks.

But once (IF) Spring ever arrives, I want to be able to put the top down and just drive!!

My owner manual says to change it around 65k. I'm at 63,600 miles.

I've been told around 100k replace it. :/

Right now i'll be driving it till it breaks because i doubt i'll hit 100k with in the next couple years. And i hope to have it traded in before it breaks.

I'd say if you have 90k plan to replace it soon. I had a 94' Jetta with 82k and the timing belt broke on it.

The owner's manual does not say to replace it at 65k.

Chrysler has two maintenance schedules. Schedule A for normal, everyday driving, and Schedule B for extreme driving (trailer towing, highway driving, excessive idling, etc).

According to Chrysler, the belt replacement interval is 90k miles for Schedule B, and 102k miles for Schedule A. So anywhere between 90-100k miles is a good time to do it.
