Just a custom rear hatch treatment. Much like the split oval window.

I don't think it is . If you look it has a wall between the cab and back. the carpet does not have cutout outs for seating and the sides arn't finished . Outside that rear is a molded section to bring the glass vertical .If it ever was a regular cruiser they went through a lot to change it .I think it is a Van

When I filled out the registration for my PT I wrote down ST.WAGON in the box. When the motor vehicle dept. sent the permanent reg. back to me, it stated VAN. I read somewhere PT's were classified as trucks to improve truck fleet mileage and to get lower import duties. PT=Plymouth Truck or PT= Plymouth Tall. ????

I believe various different states classed them however they wanted. So depending on where you live you might be driving a wagon, a truck, a SUV or a van. But I can see Chrysler playing a shell game with the labels of what to class them as for the fleet mileage thing. It's only good business to play the game the way the feds deal the cards.
