Default 2002 PT Dream Cruiser Interior Leak

Greetings all,
I have a 2002 Gold Dream Cruiser with about 44,000 miles on the clock. It has been raining here in central Florida for the last couple of days. Yesterday when I opened the hatchback I noticed a small wet spot on the carpet just inside the hatchback on the right side of the car. I did a visual and could not detect any leakage around the gasket on the hatchback. Has anyone else experienced a leak in this general area? If so what did you determine to be the source?
Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can share.
Pat

I would clean the weather strip and the hatch were the weather strip rests. Grit can accumulate and allow water to wick through. Maybe someone will have had something else. Don't see a lot of leaks on these.

get some chalk for 99, or use baby powder, whatever you have, and put some on the seal all the way around the weatherstripping on the hatch before it rains next time.

-or-

seeing as the florida sun makes stuff HOT, it could be this too: Quarter Panel Window Help! You can take the inside plastic off easily, it's just a couple screws. maybe you'll see water marks coming from the window opening.

Take a look at the spoiler hold-down bolts if your car has one, they could rusting out and letting water thru. Just something to think about.

They are outside of the weather strip seal. So I don't think that can cause this. But while looking in that area. Body side look for any cracks in the Seam sealer were the panales come together. Check top side on whether strip for a tight seal. That's about all I can think of.

Wow, really good suggestions. I do not have a spoiler so that is one down. I am going to pay some attention to the area around the rear window. I had not even looked there.
Thanks a lot.
