Default 0031 Code

My PT has a 0031 code. Troubleshoot says " The PCM detected the O2 Heater circuit is out of acceptable range low. Possible Causes: O2 assembly is damaged or it has failed O2 heater element (bank one) is damaged or has failed O2 heater control circuit is shorted to ground PCM has failed "

Where is the 02 heater element? 02 = Oxygen Sensor? Bank one?

The heater element is inside the 02 sensor itself. The PT only has 1 bank. The code usually says something like Bank 1 sensor 1, or bank 1 sensor 2 meaning the exhaust manifold 02 sensor or the CAT 02 sensor.

Probably best if you replace both upper and downstream 02 sensors. If one is bad, the other is sure to follow awhile later.

There's only one BANK so it's Bank 1 Sensor 1 that your seeing so it's the upstream sensor that's throwing the code.

If you look straight down the back from the top of the engine, it's right there.
