Default Will not start possibly Neutral safety switch

Hi,
I have a 2002 PT cruiser. When the interior gets warm it will not start. It acts just like if I have it out of park. Is there a way to bypass the Neutral safety switch so I can test it?
thanks for your help.

Did you try jump starting it. The battery can have power for all the lights, radio etc but not enough to turn over the engine.

No, I did not try to jump start it. That is really difficult with an automatic. I quess I did not explain it completely. When it is hot, it will not start. If I wait until the evening or early next morning, it will start right up. Thanks for all your help everyone

Neutral safety switch is not affected buy heat. It's more likely your starter. When it dose it again. Have someone to try and start it and and tap on the starter it will probly start. If so replace it.

So I tried to replace the starter and that was not it. It has something to do with powering the starter relay. If I short the contacts it starts. I also swapped the relay with the horn and it works fine. Now for the first time there is a fault code P 1684, any idea what this code is?

P1684 does not indicate a problem; it's only a status, which indicates that the PCM memory has been cleared within the last 50 ignition cycles which means the battery was disconnected at some time.

Trace all your big connections from starter and block All the way back to the battery.
