Default Help needed to remove outside door handle

My 2004 turbo was side-swiped and to repair damage, Driver's side outside door handle needs to be removed. Took cap off from inside door and removed nut...thought front part of handle would then slide back out of notch but not happening. Does door panel need to be removed to get access to something holding front portion of handle? Removed all the screws from inside door panel but clips must be holding it tight and didn't want to force it and break something, especially if it doesn't need to come off.
I first went to SEARCH but couldn't find answers. Thanks, Ron in San Diego

Thanks so much crewzin, now I can back to work. Was stopped at traffic light and person behind pulled out around me into flowing traffic that had left turn signal but got squeeqed into me. His door mirror made a groove up my quarter panel and across both doors above beltline and under windows and knocked off my mirror. He did stop and his insurance paid me about $1500. My car needed painted anyway so I'l going to do it all myself. Thanks again for such a fast reply with everything I needed to know.
